Workshop Manager / Mechanic
The applicant will work in the shop as a manager and mechanic. Work load will be 30% counter work and 70% mechanical based. This will vary from week to week.
In this position, the mechanic will be required to know mechanical procedures and techniques along with component inspection and preparation. These techniques are basic fundamentals of light vehicle mechanical. The goal of this position will be for the mechanic to operate without direct supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Managing staff and workloads
- Booking in jobs and allocating to staff
- Managing emails and phone calls
- Cash management, billing customers and handling multi forms of currency
- Ordering parts for up coming job and general stock
- Watch over and inspect work carried out by other technicians
- Clean and inspect suspension components (control arms, steering, etc.).
- Clean and inspect engine ancillary components (plumbing, radiators, etc.).
- Clean and inspect interior components (seats, steering columns, etc.)
- Disassemble cars (suspension, engine, and interior components) as required.
- Install suspension components, front and rear.
- Carry out wheel alignments
- Fit, strip and balance tyres
- Install interior and driver-related safety components.
- Trim and install various components.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
- Automotive electrical single circuit essential
- Clean work areas daily.
Requirements:
- Basic computer skills
- 5+ years of mechanical experience; all aspects of automotive repair, etc. is preferred.
- Equivalent mechanical experience from other technical disciplines will be considered.
- Previous experience on a race team is preferred.
- Trade school experience only.
- Automotive certifications only.
- Must be able to lift more than 30kgs without aid.
- Ability to run a workshop, little guidance will will be provided
- Wage negotiable - defendant on experience and what the candidate has to offer the business.
- Carry a full vehicle license - no exception
Motorsport Mechanic Wanted
The applicant will work in the race shop to assemble and prepare cars for race events. In this position, the mechanic will be required to learn mechanical procedures and techniques along with component inspection and preparation.
